Mobile Money Reconciliation Guide

Manually record and reconcile mobile money transactions with smart automatic matching. MOMO LENS supports 12+ mobile money providers across Africa with zero transaction fees.

How It Works

1. Record a Sale

  1. Open the MOMO LENS mobile app
  2. Create a sale and select "Mobile Money" as payment type
  3. Choose the provider (MTN, Airtel, M-Pesa, etc.)
  4. Complete the sale

2. Customer Pays via Mobile Money

Your customer sends payment to your mobile money number using their provider app. You receive an SMS confirmation from the provider.

3. Confirm the Payment

In MOMO LENS:

  • Go to Sales or Reconciliation screen
  • Tap the pending sale
  • Tap "Confirm Payment" when you receive the SMS

4. Automatic Matching

Our smart matching algorithm automatically links your confirmed payment to the corresponding sale based on:

  • Payment amount
  • Timestamp proximity
  • Provider match
  • Customer phone number (if available)

Zero Transaction Fees

Since you're manually reconciling payments, there are no transaction fees. You keep 100% of your revenue. Only pay the monthly subscription fee.

API Integration

For programmatic access to mobile money transactions, use our API:

GET /api/v1/merchants/{merchantId}/transactions
Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN

Troubleshooting

SMS Not Detected

Ensure SMS read permissions are granted. Check your device settings → Apps → MOMO LENS → Permissions.

Transactions Not Matching

Verify that transaction amounts and timestamps match. Use manual reconciliation if needed.
